We also offer a full calibration service if you'd like and our customer service team can help make sure you get what you need. Test Test weights are essential as they provide the scale owner with the ability to prove their scale is accurate and currently operating within company and government standards. In most cases local and federal regulations make test weights be traceable. Reasons include meeting standards for contract work, military contracts, pharmaceutical manufacturers and ISO 9000. The exact test weight you need depends on the type of scale you own and it's capacity. Scales are classified into groups from Class 1 to Class IIII. Once you know your scale class you then need to identify the correct weight class.
- NIST Class F: Used in commercial weighing (Legal For Trade) for Class III weighing devices.
- ASTM: Classes 0-4 used for laboratory and high precision. Classes 5-7 for industrial use.
- OIML Clas E2, F2: High precision weights in laboratories with Class II weighing devices.
Types of Test Weights For Scale Calibration:
Cast iron calibration weights equipped with a grip handle and a nest like style slab. Cast iron test weights with slotted, hanger and interlocking functions are available in ASTM Class 6 and 7. Counterpoise and hanger cast iron test weights come in ASTM Class 6 and 7. ASTM Class 5 avoirdupois and metric calibration weights are made of stainless steel material and are primarily used in field standards for both scales and balances. ASTM Class 5 individual specialty calibration weights allow for very unique and allow for custom use. ASTM Electronic calibration kits calibrate balances under Class 1 and 2. ASTM precision laboratory metric calibration sets come with a 500 mg, 20 g, 50 g, 100 g and 200 g range and test balances while exceeding a E617-13 specification.-
